Behavioral Consultations
Virtual Training
Virtual Dog Training is an online one-on-one session between you and Michelle McCarthy our Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and Certified Therapy Dog Consultant. From the comfort of your home you can focus on what you and your dog want to work on. Appointments are for puppies thru adult dogs and can cover: Basic Obedience Puppy Training Behavior Consultations Behavior Modification Personalized Training Plans Therapy Dog Consultations Michelle has over 28 years of experience working with puppies and dogs on common and complex behavior problems as well as basic and advanced training. Michelle has 25 years of experience raising, training and working Therapy Dogs. Our Virtual Training Services include an initial 1.5 hour video consultation. You will have access to our Video Library of over 120 videos for 6 months. Initial 1.5 Hour Appointment - $125 Follow up 30 minute sessions - $45 To become a student return to our home page and click APPLY to complete a New Student Profile.
Outdoor Adventures Class
Join us for Outdoor Adventures with your puppy or dog! This class is open to puppies over 16 weeks of age and adult dogs. Many puppies and dogs often struggle with over excitement, anxiety or fearfulness when going into public places, on walks or when exposed to new environments. Early socialization and exposure to new people, places and things is key when raising and training dogs. We'll teach you techniques to modify common problem behaviors and help you learn to identify potential problems before they begin using reward-based training methods. **You Must Be A K9 Home Schooling Student (Past Or Present) To Enroll In this Class** This class is open to dogs who have completed training with K9 Home Schooling or have instructor approval. Your puppy/dog must be comfortable around other dogs, this class is not intended for puppies/dogs who are already struggling with fearful/reactive behavior. Class will meet at an outdoor location in Chelsea. Under the direction of our experienced instructor you will work on the following skills: walking with a group of other handlers and their dogs address common behavior problems such as pulling on leash and over excitement on-leash behavior around other dogs 'polite' greetings with people ongoing exposure to new environments
Charm School
Problem solving is an important part of training. In this class we will address a variety of common training challenges using reward based training and behavior modification. In this 4 week class you will take your training to the next level using the foundation skills you've learned in basic obedience classes. Class size is limited to 6 students to allow for individual attention. Charm School is open to K9 Home Schooling Students who have completed training with us, or have Instructor approval We will focus on: Overexcitement Impulsive behavior Jumping Up On People Counter Surfing and Stealing Things Pulling On Leash **K9 Students have access to our On-Line Library of 100+ training videos to support your training at home** Handlers must be 18 years of age to attend class. Dogs with a history of aggression or reactive behavior towards humans or dogs are not appropriate for group class. Class will be held at an outdoor location in Chelsea.
